If you want whey that tastes like a delicious dessert drink, look elsewhere. But if you want a protein with a subtle taste and/or containing real sugar (fructose) instead of sweeteners, this one is excellent. This protein also mixes more easily than AllTheWhey or Dymatize--ON whey can even be mixed in a cup with a spoon (but a mixer cup is still easier). As far as taste when mixed with milk, I thought it was less interesting than AllTheWhey and Dymatize Gourmet, but that is more than made up for by the fact that subtle vanilla can be mixed with many other flavors.

I frequently use a scoop of this in smoothies, and it has very little effect on the taste. (I also tried using it in pancakes, but it affects the texture.) The vanilla is somewhat subtle, but like all whey proteins, it tastes pretty icky when mixed with water alone. I bought this protein so that I could use it with multiple liquids/flavors, but from now on I am planning to use unflavored whey protein for this purpose, which is much more versatile--ON Natural Vanilla Whey would probably taste strange (or too sweet) when mixed with orange juice, for example.

This stuff does not taste amazing. In fact, it tastes like watered down muscle milk, if you've ever had that brand. That being said, it does not have all the artificial sweeteners and strange ingredients muscle milk has. You want to avoid anything artificial. Things like sucralose, aspartame etc. aren't particularly good for the human body. Or, at least, their long-term effects haven't been studied enough to determine.

The taste is bearable, and after drinking it for a while, I grew to like the taste. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just bland. Which is better than tasting bad. It is very low in sugar, which is good. It has 24g protein per serving. Whey protein is the best, and this is only $30 after taxes and shipping. Great deal. (I bought the 2lb chocolate kind). I refuse to try the vanilla as I have found that most vanilla protein shakes are disgusting.

So in conclusion, this is all natural (which is great), cheap for the amount you get, has a decent taste (not great, but not bad. It's drinkable!), and as long as you're lifting hard, it will aid you in seeing results. I drink mine immediately after lifting, and sometimes before going to bed as your muscles are recuperating and rebuilding while you sleep. Great product!

This is one of the only protein powders I could find that DOES NOT have ANY artificial sweetener in the ingredients. It seams ironical to me the I take protein powder because I am trying to build a healthier body and almost all protein supplements contain some form of artificial sweetener !

This whey protein optimizes muscle recovery so the next day you will not feel as sore. for my workout plan i take one serving of this after workouts, and i workout 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So basically when i workout hard on monday, come wednesday i wont feel a thing, and will have a lot of energy to workout because well i guess my mindset to get big and beef up. oh and if your not planning to utilize this product as in workout and train hard, do not waste your money and buy this because it is not a miracle product, meaning you will not get muscles out of no where from taking this and doing nothing. all in all the product mixes great, no clumps, i mix it with 8-10oz milk and after i finish it, i pour in some water to get all my nutrition from the whey.

Very similar to the regular 100% gold standard but uses 'natural flavoring'. Tastes great to me and the company is respectable, i've been using Optimal nutrition for all my protein needs, I've tried many other brands that have just been too hard to stomach (too much artificial sweetners, awkward tasting mixes) but ON as done a great job making these products. I was very close to purchasing the dark chocolate flavor until I read that it contained an artificial sweetener. Then I noticed this one that had all natural ingredients. When I first tried it I didn't think it had much flavor, but now I love it. I think my first mistake was that I mixed it with plain water. Now I mix 2 scoops with 8 ounces of water and just 4 ounces of milk (sometimes I'll add crushed ice to the mix). Doing it this way is great and I actually look forward to having my protein shake after workouts. I used to purchase Muscle Milk but I think you get a lot more for your money when you buy this stuff instead. Highly recommended!

I began with 3 pills on the 1st day at 7 in the morning and I had energy up to about 11 that night (could have gone longer though!). If you are not a coffee drinker this stuff would probably make you a little naucious, since it has a lot of caffeine. Overall, this stuff is amazing! I'm 46 years old and I normally sit at a desk all day but I do work out at Curves 3 days a week. I try to get a good cardio workout by running in place on the "rest" stations. I started with the full dose of 3 in the AM and 3 before lunch. I felt a little jittery after the first dose but today I don't feel it at all. I'm not having any trouble sleeping either but my lunchtime pills are taken at 10:30AM so that's not very late in the day. My energy is up, my appetite is down, and I feel fuller quicker at meals. This stuff is working for me with no jitters or nausea.

I had a full hysterectomy last June and my weight loss came to a screeching halt. Where I used to lose 1.5 - 2 pounds a week at Weight Watchers, I was losing maybe .5 a pound now...it was so frustrating and I was starving and always thinking about food. So the lady at GNC told me about these and I gave them a try. Wow! After just 3 days I'm down 3.5 pounds! I'm afraid it's just water so I'll keep up the regimen the full 8 weeks to see how I do. Food does not consume me anymore - it's like I could take it or leave it. For those who ever did Fen-Phen, that's what it feels like and the weight is falling off like it did with those prescribed medications. So far I'm very happy with this product.

First off, you should know that I am not allergic to anything. In addition, I have never had a bad reaction to any medicines, supplements or anything of that nature. I take excedrine for my frequent migraines, so my system is used to caffiene and related drugs that cause jitters.

I have also taken other weightloss supplements before. None of them worked, but none of them made me sick.

I have been on Lipo 6 for 4 days now. 3 pills in the mid-morning, and 3 in mid-afternoon. All doses must be at least a half hour after you eat, and at least a half hour before you eat. I follow instructions VERY carefully.

I have not mixed with anything else, and my diet is consistant and healthy.

Every time I have taken Lipo 6, I get really sick within 30 minutes of taking it. I get extremely light headed, VERY sick to my stomach, and disoriented.

I thought at first this was just a coincidence. Thought maybe I was just getting sick, or ate something weird. Now, 4 days in...I can honestly say it's this. It makes me feel so ill that it's seriously scary. I can handle the jitters from caffiene, even the occasional upset stomach....but this is frightning.

If you care about yourself at all, you wont pay the money to ingest this stuff. It's TERRIBLE.
It may work eventually, I am not near far enough into taking it to see a difference, but I wont be sticking around to find out. This is getting sent right back to the seller, and I will be contacting the manufacturer.

I bought this product for its energy boosting effects solely. Upon taking the recommended dose the first day, I personally found the effects to be way to strong and causing intense anxiety. So, I decided to lower the dosage, and that solved the previous issues I had. It definitely gives a long lasting energy boost, I find that I don't even need the second dose. It has decent thermogenic properties as well, which could cause some people to sweat quite a bit. That did not bother me, however. It has a good appetite suppressant effect as well. It has the potential to cause insomnia if you don't do some sort of activity to disperse the supplement through your system properly, or if you take it to late in the day. Overall, I like the product and it works as advertised. My only recommendation would be not to start off with the suggested dosage, but start with two capsules a day, one upon waking and another at noon, and work from there to avoid potential side effects. I would not exceed the recommended dosage at any time.

I'm not one to use supplements, but hit a plateau and only need to lose a couple more pounds. I saw an ad in the Oxygen magazine for this supplement, then came here to read reviews. Since I read some positive feedback, I thought I would give it a shot. It's been 3 days since I started. The first day I took 3 pills as soon as I woke up. They almost immediately took effect. I did get a little jittery, but had an enormous amount of energy. I did notice that the pills did cause me to sweat for no reason. The next day I decided to take just 2 and that seemed to work better. I still have the energy and it does suppress your appetite a bit. 2 is all that I do for the whole day. Caffeine tends to make me a little nauseated, but these don't do that. Like the bottle says, don't take these longer than 8 weeks. I don't know that I will need to take them for that long, but I am pleased so far.

I must say these work for me. I took only 3 the first day and noticed immediate subtle energy lift and focus. The next day I took the maximum 3 in am/3 in pm.
Same non jittery effect but did affect my sleep.Next day I avoided my usual morning coffee and maximum dose didn't seem to alter my sleeptime. Meanwhile I ate nearly normally, I think these depress the appetite slightly. I'm moderately active and exercize twice a week 20 min./day. I wasn't going out of my way to lose weight. I lost 6 lbs in 8 days. I measured my waist to be sure and I lost an inch.I think my only anxiety is when those stubborn 5 lbs will sneak back. I do think I need to take a break from these as I've noticed some jitters on day 10. These dissipate if I actually move instead of sit still. I know these could be extremely effective for someone with a consistent exercize program.Wow! Good luck!

Jittery, nauseated, headaches

I took two of these (instead of recommended three) 1/2 hour before breakfast as directed by the instructions - within 40 minutes I felt nauseated, another 20 minutes and I was shaking so much I could't hold a pen. Shaking and nausea continued for the next six hours - obviously I didn't a second dose. Tried to eat some cereal for lunch to alleviate symptoms and the headache comming on, but didn't help.

I had very high expectations for this product. I started taking it, eating well, it does gives you more energy to workout, so I worked out a lot more, but for the fat loss, so far nothing. I have been taking it for 2 weeks, I have been eating well and have been exercising a lot more than before, at least 2 hours more a week and have not lost one single pound, I only needed to lose that last 5 or if I can 10 pounds, that is why I bought it, so it could give me a push for my last journey, but it is the same as not taking it at all. I think is a placebo, it is all in your mind. So if you don't like to waste money, don't buy it. just stick with your exercise and good eating habits and you will have the same results.

Let me start off by saying everyone's body is different and I completely stress that 100%. FOR ME, this pill is working better than I could've ever expected!

I started taking these pills exactly 1 week ago and I lost 4 1/2 pounds already! I have lost all cravings for food, do not eat before bed time and my portions have gotten smaller too! I also have so much energy with out the jitters it's so unreal. I never ever thought one of these products would work like it says it does! I've tried hydroxycut, xenedrine and neither of them worked.

I would recommend this product to any female but would definitely stress that just b/c I've had great results right away doesn't mean someone else will too. I also don't drink anything but water, sometimes iced tea. You also have to follow the instructions DON'T consume any caffeine from any other products. That could be why some others have felt adverse side effects. I also didn't start off taking the full dosage for fear I might have had side effects. I took 1 pill before meals the first day then went up to 2 and monitored my reaction to them. after 3 days I am now taking the full dosage and everything is fine. I haven't started working out yet and I cannot wait to see my results once I do!!

I have done many cycles of the Lipo6 Hers with success so I figured this product would be that much better but it didnt work for me.
One thing I didn't like was if I took the recommended dosage, it made me jittery. If I took 2, twice a day then I just felt normal. This product did not curb my appetite like the Lipo6 Hers and I didn't lose a pound.
When I went back to the Lipo6 hers, I lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks mainly because it curbs my appetite and it gives me a TON of energy for my workouts.
Everyone is different and they may be able to tolerate the full dosage of Lipo6 Hers Black so this wasn;t written to be discouraging. Nutrex makes great products and apparently I found the one for me.

I bought these as a recommendation from a friend who does fitness competitions and another friend who is a personal trainer. These pill work great. I can get jittery on a couple cups of coffee but not on these pills. They curbed my appetite without feeling nauseous. I also had so much energy I couldn't help but want to workout. I hate to workout but these pill give me a boost to get to the gym. I have taken these for 1 week now and can definitely feel a difference in how my clothes fit.

I have read the reviews, as well as my friends having the same reaction, the orange leakage, problems when going to the bathroom. I have ONLY had this occur a couple times when I did NOT follow the low fat diet for many days and still took Alli. So, IF you are having this problem badly, you are CHEATING. Its NOT a miricle diet drug where you can eat allll day long, whatever you want and loose weight without any issues. Its suppose to assist you to loose weight faster when you follow the diet plan. Now I only have use it to maintain my weight loss. I take it b/4 going out to eat, having a fattening treat at home, etc. Its the BEST! It will help you to loose weight faster when following a healthy, low fat, diet plan. I also cut out carbs, salt and sugar and lost even faster! LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It came very fast ordered through Amazon too!

I have not had any Anal leakage. But if you eat to much fat your in for a messy greasy bowel movement. I have purchased this product before and lost about 10 lbs and did have most of the side effects but they were bearable as long as the product worked. I purchased this product again from a different seller (the price was alot cheaper) and started taking it. The caplets appear to only be half full and i'm not sure if they are supposed to be full or not. I am not having ANY of the side effects that I had before and haven't lost a single pound ( I mean, even when i eat really greasy, fatty foods, there is nothing whereas before there was) I'm just not sure if the product is as its supposed to be. Be careful who you order your products from.

I've been taking an alli pill with lunch and dinner for the past 7 months. It's not a miracle drug, but I suppose it helps slightly. You do occasionally see the oily deposits in your toilet. I eat a lot of carbs so it probably doesn't help me as much. I personally didn't have any accidents/crap myself like many people are talking about, even after eating meals very high in fat.

This is one of those drugs where you know the makers of it are manufacturing this stuff dirt cheap and marking up the price to unreasonable rates. They know Americans will pay anything to be able to eat "what they want" and "still lose weight". If you open the capsule you will see hardly anything inside, you have to wonder what you're paying for. I didn't experience any oily deposits for the first 1+ month and thought I received a "defective" bottle so I called the # on the bottle (I think it's GlaxoSmithKline or something) and waited 45+ minutes listening to the music recording before giving up. Impossible to get a hold of.

I'm really not sure why I keep buying this stuff, the price is pretty ridiculous considering they absolutely must make a bottle for less then a dollar...

Recently I purchased a bottle of Alli. I love the Alli diet pill. It works, no doubt about it. Use it in combination with a low fat diet and you will lose about 5 lbs a month, at least thats how it worked for me two different times. Its a great diet pill. My only beef: This last time I ordered it was too long of a wait for delivery. I waited about two weeks. When you are about to run out of the pill and order it you should receive it within one wk. Two weeks is entirely tooooo long. I didn't have any pills for about a week and a half. Knocked me off my diet.

Great at packing on muscle, but with the artificial sweeteners and sugar, it gets 1 point off

I would like to start off by saying, this is a very good product. I packed on a LOT of muscle in a short time period, relying primarly on this product alone. As in I was only eating 1 or 2 actual meals a day, and replacing 4-5 with this protein shake. I put on a lot of muscle from doing this. However due to the sugar and artificial sweeteners it has, and the large doses I was taking of it daily, I ran into a few health problems (nothing serious, but serious enough to stop me drinking them to let my body rest for 2 weeks). I have to say that I will be getting back onto it soon (but only 2-3 a day, rather then 4-5 lol) simply because it really does work, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 just because had they not put sugar and artificial sweeteners in it, the product would be unbelievably perfect. I drink the double rich chocolate with water, and it doesnt taste bad, just dont expect it to taste amazing (no protein shake is going to taste good in water only, at least it doesnt taste bad lol). My training goals are strictly to place more muscle on my body, and this does the job very well. Since this product is not made with protein from meats, it is of course going to be harder to digest for your orgrans, meaning drink LOTS of water so your Liver and Kidneys dont get screwed up. Also something I intend to be adding to my plan with this next week is to supplement Omega 3 along with this to make up for the balance of less shakes a day. (Omega 3 increases the amount of protein that goes to your muscle, meaning more muscle is created because of it). Hope this review helps.

First of all I am a huge fan of this stuff and have been using it 5yrs, I've bought the strawberry and vanilla flavors, My goals are weight loss and nothing else comes close to this product, I've tryed countless others.
Reasons I only buy the strawberry or vanilla flavors is I don't want a gunky flavor, if I wanted a junk flavor I'll eat junk, I add 10oz water 3 medium strawberrys, half medium size banana, 1/4cup blueberries, scoop of whey powder, and 1 tsp glucomannan powder, and 2tbls ground flax seeds and 1tsp l-glutamine powder, 1 tsp greensuperfood. I drink this for breakfast a half hr before I go to the gym, then I drink another protein shake after, adding only vegtables with the vanilla whey protein, I have been full of energy and have lost 30lbs in 5wks, along with drinking plenty of fresh squeezed lemon water and lots of fresh vegtables and fresh cooked fish dinners tilapia wild caught...back to the product I love this stuff and will not switch to another.

Having tried many different protein shakes and bars, this one is by far the best tasting. It's not dessert or anything, but if you make it with at least half of the liquid as whole milk it's really great for a protein shake. It's not bad made with just water either. With my last pregnancy my OB suggested that I get at least 75g of protein a day (which is quite a bit if you look at nutrition info). I brought in the nutrition label for this product and she approved it as safe for me to have once or twice a day while pregnant. I'd suggest asking your own OB before starting to drink them all the time, but they're the best option in my opinion.

I am fully willing to accept that this might have been a 1-off experience, but I wanted to leave it here for anyone else that maybe had the same experience.

I've been using ON's Whey Vanilla Protein for over a year, specifically the older 2 lbs container that Amazon no longer carried when I went to order it. Instead I got this 5 lbs container.

In the past my experience with ON's Whey Protein was that it tasted very "gentle" -- it was an easy protein powder to mix into anything and not taste. I mixed it with milk or water by itself and would take it before and after a workout.

After I got the new 5 lbs tub, I did my same routine and took my shake before my workout. I was struck with how chalky and noticeable the taste was. The taste of the new protein was much more pronounced. It's not a pungent taste, just a nasty sort of chalky taste.

I went and worked out and came home and had my 2nd shake that was even more pronounced. I couldn't get that taste off my palette for about a day and ended up tossing the entire tub of protein.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed the more pronounced taste, but I've moved to another protein powder just because I personally cannot stand it. If you are using this and continue to notice no taste and everything is fine, it's very possible I just got a bad/unmixed batch of protein or something.

Other than that, it's hard to beat the price of the ON Protein, which is what has always attracted me to it on Amazon.
