Most importantly these particular bars taste great - most flavors are great. (Not a fan of Carrot Cake) For any first timers, the bars aren't the most aesthetically pleasing at first but you get used to it. I like to have them as a breakfast food or as an afternoon snack to get me going. I'm currently not as active as I used to be but I have a pretty healthy appetite and these bars don't fill me up as much as some other people here, but it does the job.
These are pretty healthy and mostly organic but when it comes to food it always comes down to taste and these bars pass that test. So everything else is a plus. Additionally there's a ton of flavors out there, so there's one for everyone.

Clif bars are amazing. They taste great, they're compact, and they're chock full of great stuff. Seriously, one might think there would have to be a black whole in the center of a Clif bar to explain the unbelievably high energy density!
All joking aside, I use these all the time when backpacking and I have to say that all other energy bars I've tried pale in comparison to the wonder that is the Clif bar. I also think they're great as an everyday snack (although expensive) and would easy pass over a snickers bar to grab one of these! |
Non Organic Soy Overpriced

| These energy bars are tasty and handy, but they have two issues. The first is that they contain non-organic soy (hexane). The second is that you can find them for 99 cents each at Harmon Drugs and other discount stores. |

| Perhaps a little sweet, but these bars are really good. I switched to Think Thin for a while but all that milk protein gave me digestive problems. Rice protein is much less problematic for me. And good fiber too. |

| Bought one box of assorted flavors to take elk hunting. Our friends liked them so much, we bought each of them a 24 bar box. Perfect for when you're "on" an elk and can't take the time to stop to eat. Gives good energy with great taste! |
Great meal replacement

| A friend recommended these bars to me a meal replacement at lunchtime and boy are they a lifesaver. I usually don't have time to eat a proper lunch and one can only eat so many frozen entrees or fast food salads before they want to scream. I find that one of these bars with a piece of fruit keeps me satisfied until dinner and keeps my blood sugar stable. With the meal replacement drinks (Atkins, Slimfast), I'm ravenous by 4:00 and have a headache. My favorites are Peanut Crunch, Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Chip Peanut - I never get tired of them. Try them-you'll be pleasantly surprised! |

Always looking to have an assortment of snack bars and packs available for my family and myself I picked up the Clif Bar Energy Bars, Variety Pack of Chocolate Chip, Crunchy Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Chip Peanut Crunch, 2.4-Ounce Bars (Pack of 24) which contained 8 of each bar.
The size of these bars is just what I wanted. Big enough to fill you up and give you energy for a short time and not so small that you feel like your getting short changed. As for the flavors? I have a preference for anything peanut butter so I liked the crunchy peanut butter best, but I also liked the other two so I can say I liked them all.
The price can get a bit high on these. I tend to either wait for a sale here on Amazon or in my local grocery store before buying. |

I ordered this variety pack after first having a box of Cookies 'n Cream builders bars. I thought that they were just Clif Bars, but apparently the builders bars are different: more protein, and more of a candy bar shape (these "bars" are almost nugget shaped).
Beyond just the look, the bars themselves are quite different in texture. I *greatly* prefer the builders bars, to such an extent that I may try to give away the remainder of this box (I've only eaten 2 bars) and just order another box of builders bars. These bars do not look good, and though they taste alright, the texture is a big turn off for me... |

Clif Bars are high-density energy bars, designed to replace the fuel your body needs during demanding workouts. I use them during adventure racing, mountain climbing, and kayaking. They are excellent compared to all the other "power" type bars that are available. These are not "healthy snacks" for couch potatoes to smack on while watching TV. Do that and it'll end up on your butt! Used for the intended purpose, and when purchased fresh, these deserve the 5-star rating I've given.
I buy the variety pack at my local [...], and the price is lower than Amazon's gold box special price. The other advantage of purchasing food in a brick and mortar store is that you can verify the product expiration date. Several reviewers complained about this product being stale and/or out-dated. I've purchased other food products from Amazon and have also noted they are pushing close to the expiration date, meaning that one needs to consume a case of food within a week or two before it expires. Buyer beware.

My husband and I are both health food nuts and are into the fitness-gym, food-is-fuel mentality. When he plateaued at the gym gain-wise, he added these to his diet, and the combination of his high protein, moderate carb diet along with these has pushed him over that hump and he's made significant gains in muscle mass as well as endurance. These are great meal replacements for the average active person and a great addition to a high-calorie, amped carb diet.
These are not great meal replacements if you are watching your weight or are trying for a low carb diet plan. If you are interested in this sort of meal replacement or supplement bar, I'd guide you towards the Pure Protein or EAS Carb Control lines.
These taste really great, (they taste like super "bad-list" junk food to me, but they really aren't bad) and they come in various flavors, all of which are really easy on the palate.
